Crossroads Food Court

For a week now, my mom has been on a trip to LA, leaving me and my sister with my dad to provide us food and the basic necessities of life. Unfortunately, my dad's cooking is limited to cooking rice and making hard boiled eggs. Therefore, for the past few days we have been eating out and ordering pizza a lot more.
Today we went to the food court at Crossroads Mall, and as always the food was awesome.
My family is Chinese and my mom almost always cooks Chinese food so we wanted to add some variety to our food pallets by ordering foods from different origins.
We ordered sushi, pho, and a korean beef rice bowl... All of which are still Asian foods for some strange reason(Japanese, Vietnamese, and Korean). Next time I think I will try a gyro because I saw another family eating gyros and now, it is my life goal to get some gyro magic on my taste buds.
Now for some mouth watering pictures of food!
This is the rainbow sushi( I didn't come up with the name), and it was my first time actually eating raw fish.
The Beef Rice Bowl, I should have added more sauce, but it was too far away to go back. I regret nothing
Also I got some Starbucks. This probably also falls into the category of Asian foods, because it's tea...
I didn't get any pictures of the pho because by the time I reached the table, my dad had already eaten a quarter of the meal. I probably could have managed to take a photo of the pho, but it wouldn't have ended up looking that great.
Hope you guys try some new foods and are enjoying your summer so far!

Slurpees, You know you love them

I went and bought a slushee today, oh wait no it's called a slurpee. This is actually my second time I have ever gotten a slurpee in my whole entire life...so as you can see, I don't get out very much.
Sadly I had nothing better to do so I wrote this sonnet, following the rules of rhyming and iambic pentameter which was totally unnecessary.
Slurp that Slurpee| By Angela Ea

Hot summer days. The sun shines in your eyes.
Wipe the sweat from your brow. Relax and chill.
But it’s hot and you have to improvise,
Don’t let your perfect day melt down and spill,
Sprint to the nearest seven eleven.
Walk in quickly to grab the largest cup,
Bottom to top, a refreshing heaven.
Cool and tasty, you have to spread the news
Slurpees in heat is what we all could use.

Hope you guys are having a "refreshing" summer!

Crafternoon #2: DIY Customized Mug

Hi there! Today I'm about to show you how I customized a plain old mug. Essentially, all I did was head over to my local craft store, Michael’s and I bought a mug customization kit. Awkwardly enough, the mug kit was made for little kids age 6 and up, but whatever I just had to purchase it (and plus I’m over 6 so it’s okay). Anyways let’s get started!

Step 1: Get inspired

Whether it is a fancy design, or a simple quote or image, find something that inspires you and is easy enough to reproduce with a paint brush.I went on my pinterest and found a quote that seemed to completely describe me and I thought was simple enough to copy: "Never again. Until next time."

Step 2: Gather your materials

Here's what you'll be needing to make this project:
11.       A ceramic mug
22.       Paintbrush
33.       Paint specifically designed for decorating ceramics
44.       An oven

Step 3: Paint your Mug

(*Before you paint on your mug, you should first wipe it down with a wet cloth so any dust is removed.)
Next, paint on your design. I decided to paint my quote free-hand; however you can choose to use stencils to make your design more precise.
Step 4: Bake Your Mug
(*It is important NOT  to preheat your oven before placing your mug inside. The sudden change in heat can cause the mug to crack or explode in the oven.)
Place your mug in the oven for 30 minutes at 360°. When the time is up, leave the mug in the oven until both the oven and mug are fully cooled.

Step 5: Admire Your Work of Art

There you have it, a DIY mug that you can show off to your friends.
I liked the way my mug turned out, however after taking it out of the oven, I realized I forgot to add punctuation marks(the critically important period). If you make an error like this, all you have to do is repeat your steps of repainting your mug and baking it in the oven again.

Hope you enjoyed this project and got inspired!
