5 Creative Last Minute Costumes That You Can Make

Today's post is a little different than the usual crafts, instead I am proud to present you:
THE ULTIMATE LAST MINUTE HALLOWEEN COSTUME LIST. This self given title may be exaggerated and lengthy, but Halloween is in less than one week. If you're still struggling to find a costume, no worries. Welcome to the club. Luckily you have come to the right place where you'll find a list of DIY costumes that are easy and don't take too long to make.

#1: A Sims Character
Level of difficulty : EASY
Time it Takes to Make: < 5 minutes
This fun costume is perfect for anyone who enjoys playing the game Sims and it can be an excuse to speak gibberish all night long. You can layer this costume with another costume and create a costume within a costume: costume-ception! (sorry that was a lame joke)

There are multiple ways to make this, but the easiest tutorial involves folding green paper to create an origami diamond. Learn how to make it by clicking this link. (don't worry the video is only 1 minute long)
After creating the sims plumbob, use a piece of wire to connect it to your headband and you are all set to blow people's minds with your super boss costume.
You can wear anything-even your pajamas- as long as you have that diamond floating above your head you're all set to go. If you're someone who prefers not to wear a headband, you can easily attach the diamond to a hat instead.

#2: Cotton candy
Level of Difficulty : pretty much EASY
Time it Takes to Make: around 10 minutes

All you have to do is create a body "bag" with a big clear plastic bag and stuff yourself with pink stuffing.

You could take it to the next level by adding a paper cone hat, but that step is optional if you aren't in to putting in too much effort.
Instead of stuffing, you can wrap your self in a bunch of loose layers of tulle. Ask a friend to help "wrap" you up in a clear bag. Then print out, or even write on a apiece of paper "Cotton candy" stick it on with clear tape or glue and and you are now a tasty treat.

#3: Ty Baby
Level of difficulty: EASY peasy-lemon-squeezy
Time it Takes to Make: <5 min.
If you already have an old animal costume lying around, adding a TY beanie baby necklace will help spruce up your costume. People will think you are a genius.

Really all you have to do is get some ribbon tie on a giant Ty label that you can easily DIY. All you have to do is fold a red piece of paper in half, and cut out the shape of a heart. Then you can either paint on the white TY logo, or cut one out and paste it.
Next put on an animal hat/animal ears/ draw some whiskers on your face and throw on your TY necklace.

#4: Night
Level of Difficulty: Easy
Length of Time to Create: <10 minutes

This picture is from studiodiy.com, one of my favorite DIY blogs. However instead of shiny stars, I thought it would be more interesting to use glow in the dark stars instead so that you can glow in the dark. (duh)

To create this look, grab all the dark clothes from your closet and choose a plain black ensemble that you are willing to "destroy". You can either use the adhesive already on the back of the star to stick onto your clothes, or grab a hot glue gun to paste it on. However if you want to avoid permanently altering your clothes, you can even choose to tape them on. It's only for one night so go crazy and do whatever you want.
Another fun idea could involve painting stars on your face. Increase that night-time celestial feel!

#5: Tea bag
Skill Level: HOW MUCH EASIER CAN IT GET?
Length of Time to Create: 1-2minutes (I'll bet you five cents!)
This is by far one of my favorites from this list because of how easy it is to make this and also because I love tea and it's such a cute idea to be a teabag!

All you need is an oversized white t-shirt, a piece of string, and a printed/ drawn picture of a tea company you like. Fold in your shirt sleeves like a muscle tee to create a square shape. String the tea logo onto your string like a necklace and put it on. In less than one minute, you have become nature's greatest gift: tea.

Anyways hope you guys got some costume inspiration, if not, there are so many tutorials out there. Feel free to explore ideas until you bump into something you absolutely love.
Happy Halloween!

DIY: Seashell Crown

I am super excited to share my most recent DIY project with you guys. Today I will be showing you how I made this seashell crown. It's super easy to make and perfect for a Halloween costume, or bold fashion statement.
I wrote a short little guide on how to make this and even drew a poorly drawn guide at the end of the post. But here is the general info. This project as I mentioned earlier, is very easy to make and requires only one simple step after you gather your basic materials:

  • 1 headband
  • a handful of small seashells (I bought fake ones from my local Joanne's crafting store)
  • dainty fake flowers
  • round beads (they're the cheap kinds from party stores)
  • hot glue gun/ super glue

Step 1: glue seashells, flowers, and beads onto the headband in anyway that you like. To create an elegant tiara look, just place the biggest shell in the center and try to keep things symmetrical. Of course you can just go crazy with your crown and make a beautiful mess!

Here's what it looks like on my head.

Now here is the guide I mentioned earlier:
Hope you guys enjoyed this little project and enjoy the rest of your weekend!
