D.I.Y Marbled Planter

Hello and welcome/ welcome back to my blog. I am super excited for this weekend's DIY project and I hope you guys enjoy learning how I made this marbled planter below.
Okay let's get down to business! (no not to defeat the Huns)
Here are the materials you will be needing:
  • water
  • nail polish - at least two different shades
  • empty planter
  • large bowl/ small bucket that you can fit your planter in
  • bobby pin or tooth pick

Step 1. fill the large bowl with water.
In this case, I used a very deep metal bucket(?), you don't have to get something very big because it wastes a lot of water. I learned my lesson, next time I will use a shallower container
Step 2. Get your nail polish and splatter it across the water.
You don't want to pour too much! After experimenting, I found it was unnecessary to use so much as it ended up just being a waste of nail polish that floated to the bottom of the bowl.
This is what it looked like after I finished splattering. Pretty satisfying isn't it?
Step 3. Use a small bobby pin, tooth pick, or etc. to mix the colors on the surface of the water.
I decided to add a third color so that you guys could see the mixing a little better.
Step 4. Grab your empty planter and dip it in. Or if you already have a plant inside and your pot has no holes,on the bottom just dip it in. I was too scared to submerge it all the way so I kept a lot of it blank.
***plants need draining holes so if you don't have one, after this project, you should poke one in yourself. Trust me this will help keep it alive*
Step  5. Pull out your planter and hold it up so that it can air dry.  Then place over a paper or newspaper until completely ... not wet.
Step 6. Put your plant in your new planter if you haven't already and now YAY it's now done!
And the last self-explanatory step- DISPLAY!
Looking good! I put my planter on the window sill to show it off and also get some light on my succulent.
If you want you can stroll down memory lane with me: I purchased my succulent at Trader Joes and we've been inseparable ever since!
This is me keeping watch over it in the car.
This is going on pinterest <3
Hope you guys had a magnificent week and get your creative juices flowing!

Glasses case makeover

Hi guys, today's post is a DIY project and all you need is some paint and tape to makeover a case for either glasses or sunglasses. Lets get started!
Here are the materials you will be needing:
  • Paintbrush
  • Paint
  • Plain hard shelled glasses case
  • tape* (optional if you don't feel like being precise)

*In this picture I have some super cute washi tape from Daiso, but after actually painting on my case I realized washi tape was completely ineffective in making crisp lines because the paint bled right through. I found that regular clear tape worked perfectly instead. Therefore, in some photos where I used washi tape, you should replace it with regular clear tape or any actual painter's tape you might have.
Step 1: Decide on a design and place tape onto your case.
Step 2: Paint in different colors between the lines.
as you can see, this is when I made the switch to clear tape
Step 3: Peel off the tape and wait for the paint to dry.

That's all you have to do to be completely done. Now you are ready to show off you fancy, new color block case!

Hope you guys enjoyed this small little DIY, in the meantime, keep on getting through life and see you again next week!
Say hello to my feet and awkward sock tan

    Fall Pieces

In today’s post, I just wanted to show off some great deals I scored recentlyOriginally I was going to title this post fall essentials, but in retrospect there are far more things required to make that happen and it wouldn't make sense to only talk about two things, but the two accessories I am about to (shamelessly) brag about are some examples of go to fall items.

The pictures are over a week old, (as you can tell with the familiar icons in the background) but my love for these items is still going on strong.

I got the classic looking plaid backpack from Pacsun during their fall sale for only 10 bucks! Originally it would have been about 35bucks. Score for savings!

The boots are from target. I din’t even plan on going shopping that day*  ButI found these boots in the sale section for shoes for only 10 bucks as well. They were the last ones, and they were in my size! It's moments like these that make you want to shout Hallelujah!

*It was raining and I ran for the mall to take cover. As always, it was a bad idea to go into Target, because I lost a bunch of money that day to random things that I liked and did not  even need. For example, I spent over twenty dollars on a bag of plastic dinosaurs, twine, milk bottles, and an overpriced notebook. But the shoes made up for my money loss so...yay?

Sorry for the short post, (I've been in Hiatus) but you look forward to higher quality stuff cause I actually have time in my life this weekend to get my life together
(hopefully..of course I procrastinate a lot so...) and put more work into my blog. I just finished taking some big tests, only to fall into another sea of big tests, so be sure to look out for some study tips coming your way.

    Enjoy your weekend!

    What's on the wall?

These past few days, I have been extremely busy prepping for exams and drowning in a sea of endless homework.  However, last week I was digging through some old “folders of my past” and  found some old photos from a photography class I took last year. And then I thought to myself, why not start a photo wall?
There is obviously room for improvement, and I'm hoping to find more works of art to fill in the gaps.Hope you guys enjoy this post showing the beginning stages of my photo/art inspiration wall!

I got this cool collage-type picture from an old Muse Magazine that I acquired from Urban Outfitters.
Also I am super excited to have accumulated some fairy lights to add nighttime lighting. Tumblr themed room here I come!

Random thoughts while looking at these pictures:
Looking back at these photos, it seems as if I had a weird fascination with telephone towers...
As you can see, sometimes, I like to play around with shadows...
    See you next week!
