Good crafternoon!
This afternoon's crafting project: DIY mason jar candle light:
A few months back, I made this craft with my friends at an art museum party. Instead of going to a school dance that would undoubtedly be filled with unnecessary grinding, a few friends and I decided to boycott the "ball" and head over to the Bellevue Arts Museum where they decided to hold a teens only party filled with multiple crafting projects.I am about to show you how to make one of my favorites: the mason jar candle light.
Here's a list of things you will be needing to make this cute little thing:
1. small mason jar
4. small paint brush (optional)
If you're into minimalism, you don't even have to paint the jar. If you want you can just get a small candle and stick it in a mason jar and tie a nice ribbon around it. This way the project becomes even easier and you still end up with a cute mason jar candle holder.
Let's get started!
Step 1. Take the lid off your mason jar and start painting however you like on the sides of the jar. I decided not to use a paint brush and just made small dots by squeezing it out of the container.
Step 2. Wait for the paint to dry for an hour or more depending on how thick you painted the glass. The thinner the paint, the faster it will dry and vice versa.
Step 3. Stick it in and light it up! ( by it I mean the candle)
look at my photography skills you can't even see me in the picture |
There you have it, a mason jar candle that will make your friends say:"That's so cool, but why did you spend your time making that?"
This project is very easy to make and the steps are pretty simple and straightforward. I hoped this inspired you in some way! See you next Saturday crafternoon!
